Carmentix is proud to showcase our work at the Maternal Fetal Neonatal Medicine 2019 conference

Carmentix is delighted to announce that we have showcased our work at the World Maternal Fetal Neonatal Medicine 2019 conference in London. Following our previous presentation at the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine’s 39th Annual Pregnancy meeting in February, we have further validated the accuracy of our test in a cohort of 128 term and 11 preterm cases. Our long-time collaborator, Prof. Shaun Brennecke, presented our work on “Novel Panel of Midtrimester Protein Markers Predict Preterm Birth”. It was an engaging experience with an international panel of clinician and scientists who shared great and interesting insights.

Prof Shaun Brennecke

“Whilst these results require revalidation in a larger cohort, they support the potential to generate a novel test that would predict preterm birth, weeks or even months prior to any clinical presentation, thereby addressing this important unmet need in asymptomatic women. Accurate prediction of spontaneous preterm labour would allow triage of pregnant women into appropriate models of care with the aim of preventing or delaying the onset of labour and to improve preterm survival with the fewest complications.”
